Experience the beauty of the North West Coast of Tasmania and run from Latrobe to Ulverstone return along the Coastal Pathway track
In 2009, The Cradle Coast Authority, in conjunction with Safer Roads for Cyclists Tasmania, the co-operating local councils and the State Government, initiated the North West Coastal Pathway Project.
In 2019, construction commenced on four significant sections: Sulphur Creek to Penguin; West Ulverstone; Leith to Don; and Ambleside to Latrobe following the receipt of funding from the Local, State and Federal Governments. Construction for these four sections was completed in 2022. The latest infill inclusion, a key link connecting the coastal pathway, was the Turners Beach to Leith section, which was completed in 2023.
Benefits associated with this fundamental piece of infrastructure are far reaching and include fostering increased health and wellbeing, removing barriers for increased cycling & walking as alternatives for commuting to work and strongly supporting growth in our visitor economy.
